Trial by celebrity...

Paul Tripp just made a public pronouncement that Pastor Tullian Tchividjian "has filed for divorce." Paul goes on to say he agrees it is time for Tully to "move on."

A short time ago Paul made a public pronouncement about Pastor Mark Driscoll, Acts 29, and Mars Hill Church. A little later he made a public pronouncement about Pastor Tullian Tchividjian and Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church. Now he makes a public pronouncement about Pastor Tchividjian filing for divorce and the breakup of the Tchividjian family. Here is Paul in his role as the sole proprietor of what he promotes as "Paul Tripp Ministries, Inc." making judgments without any reference to the courts of Christ's Church.

Such things should never happen. They are a reflection of the displacement of the Church by religious corporations and the celebrities who own them. For the record, here is a screenshot of Paul's corporate web site and the pronouncement he published there...

Your grandson's pastor...

That buffet of idolatry, Patheos, just published a respectful hack-job on John Piper and all his male-prerogative-peers. Titled "Beyond Biblical Manhood and Womanhood," it's written by this guest contributor who wants a job preaching to men. Why won't John Piper get her a job?

This is a screenshot of the final couple inches of the piece. When you're done with the picture (go ahead, we'll wait), read the text carefully—all the way to the bottom where she introduces her hash tag links to heresy. Catch it?

Anti-Planned Parenthood protest in Indianapolis...

Preaching and prayer at an anti-Planned Planned Parenthood rally in Indy:

The coddling of the Presbyterian pew...

A brother forwarded a link to an Atlantic Monthly piece titled "The Coddling of the American Mind" reporting on the prevalence of emotionally pampered college students who are using emotional blackmail to imprison their profs and fellow students. It's an excellent article...

In film exposures of Planned Parenthood, do ends justify means?

Pastor Doug Wilson recently did a helpful post exploring the ethics of tactical deception on the part of the Center for Medical Progress (CMP). He got me thinking about what constitutes a moral obligation of full disclosure and whether parameters for godly deception can be marked out.

I have had discussions with Christians who are very pleased by CMP’s work, but are conflicted regarding tactical deception. They wonder if they’re giving into saying “the ends justify the means.” In addition to this, there are R2K proponents criticizing CMP for their “unethical” methods for infiltrating PP. The former are understandably conflicted, the latter are selectively squeamish—dare I say pietistic—about operating within the “common” kingdom.

Adding to the mess is the media’s selectivity in reporting on CMP's videos while also reporting names linked to a website dedicated to facilitating adulterous liaisons...

The prophetess, Mother Theresa...

Every abortion causes two deaths: the death of the baby and the death of the mother's conscience.  - Mother Teresa

Nazi Christians who wouldn't dance...

After seminary, my father and mother were in campus ministry in New England. It was right after the Second World War when Germany had decided Jews were unwanted and her government implemented her Final Solution in her abort-the-Jews clinics across Germany and the Bloodlands. Dad was at an international student conference where Christian students who had served in the German army under Hitler told of their conscientious Christian witness during the war. What was that witness?

Dad writes...

The banality of evil...

There was a wonderful Christian witness tonight from a bunch of men and women who pled with the Monroe County Council members to consider God's hatred of cruelty and the bloodshed of innocents, and to repent of their yearly votes to give our tax dollars to Planned Parenthood. Sadly, though, they have no fear of God and they went on record as being solidly in favor of slaughtering little helpless babies.

God bless County Council Member Mrs. Marty Hawk for once again opposing her fellow council members in this matter.

I can't remember ever hearing such excellent testimonies at a public hearing. Thank you, all who came, whether you spoke and prayed, or simply prayed. What is clear is that the Gospel is the only solution to such spiritual bondage as we saw tonight. Let us proclaim repentance and faith in Jesus Christ everywhere we are in Bloomington. Rescue the perishing!

Bloomington Planned Parenthood Abortuary protest last Saturday...

Thanks to Sereirath Sieng for this picture of the protest we all joined in last Saturday, August 22, 2015, down in front of Planned Parenthood's abortuary here in Bloomington. Planned Parenthood's abortuary is next door to their soul-sister, United Way of Bloomington. Note the sign on the far right.

Monroe County Commissioners expedite blood money for Planned Parenthood...

[NOTE: They're council members, not commissioners.]

In the wake of the recent release of a catastrophic list of videos showing the ghouls of Planned Parenthood joking and laughing their way through negotiations for the sale of the body parts of the babies they have been paid to murder, our own Monroe County council members have suddenly decided to vote tomorrow on funding for our local Planned Parenthood abortuary. This matter can't wait. Planned Parenthood needs more taxpayer money immediately.

County council members don't normally vote on this so early in the year and the amount ($3,000) is piddling. Or should I say symbolic? Their newspeak for it is a "community service grant." It's hard to see this as anything other than our county council expediting the vote in order to make a public show of solidarity with their Neo-Nazi friends whose bloody deeds have twice recently been protested by hundreds out in front of their South Walnut "public service" abortuary...
