Ash Carter adds sexual orientation...

Error message

I've had three Christian friends who served as military chaplains. Each had served in the Armed Forces prior to entering the chaplaincy. None of them were cowards.

My children will not have any Christian friends who serve as military chaplains. Why not?

Because the military no longer allows its officers to live according to anything approximating a Christian conscience.

But yesterday it got worse when Defense Secretary Ash Carter added sexual orientation to the list of the Armed Forces nondiscrimination protections. Fr. Bill Mouser comments...

Here's a prediction. Before Obama leaves office (i.e. soon) he (or whoever in the DOD carries out his wishes) will appoint an openly homosexual chaplain to be the top officer in the chaplaincy chain of command. This will be done with a lot of media fanfare.

This would "send a message" that no Christian who opposes or fails to approve of homosexuality will be welcome in the military. Moreover, it would make every Christian chaplain answerable to a homosexual chaplain, just to make the point that homosexuals who champion homosexuality can be fine Christian officers too.

If they can find a lesbian to fill this head of chaplaincy for the armed services, so much the better. Two messages for the price of one!
