Bestiality zoos...

Over in Germany bestiality zoos are open for business. It gets me thinking...

Moral societies are repulsed by crimes against nature. Citizens privileged to live in such societies voice that revulsion through laws and public discourse, but also through shaming those who sign their perversion in the way they speak and act, and the clothing they wear.

Immoral societies glory in their shame and are pleased to promote pastors and seminary professors who will justify their shamelessness. Such pastors and profs are easily recognized by their fruit. They preach and write in such a way that their kindness never leads men toward, but away from repentance.

Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance? - Romans 2:4

There is no greater betrayal of the pastoral calling today than our precious parsing of any condemnation of sodomy that manages to escape our lips. We are so tender in our treatment of same-sex intimacy that, now, other-species intimacy is upon us and we have only ourselves to blame...

Last night my wife told me of a conversation with a friend...

in a PCA church who spoke of her concern over the sexual identity of the sons of her pastor and one of her elders. As Mary Lee put it, both boys are likely to end up committed sodomites when they leave their childhood homes. Yet everyone is refusing to see the danger signs smacking them in the face each day. And certainly no one is preaching or teaching fervently against this abomination.

Men of God have no love for those tempted by sodomy, so we have not warned them as we ought--even our own Covenant children! All across these United States, sons and daughters of conservative Reformed churches have left their homes and Classical schools to give themselves to sodomy and lesbianism. Yet we have the audacity to act as if we're surprised. Positively shocked!

Bunk and double bunk. We saw it coming and were silent. Or maybe not silent, but quiet and nuanced and precious because of our pathological fear of being misunderstood.

God put it this way:

If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them. ...If there is a man who lies with an animal, he shall surely be put to death; you shall also kill the animal. If there is a woman who approaches any animal to mate with it, you shall kill the woman and the animal; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them. Leviticus 20:13, 15-16

But we put it this way:

(T)he Bible has reservations. The Bible says homosexuality is not God’s original design for sexuality. Ok? ...It’s a different view than what the Bible says. Gay people have a different view of sexuality than generally what you see in the NT. ...I have to take some responsibility for being a member of the Christian Church for the oppression of homosexuals. ...We would say homosexuality is not the original design for sexuality. Therefore, it’s not good for human flourishing. We want people to do things that are good for human flourishing. But that’s not what sends you to heaven or Hell. ...What sends you to heaven or Hell really has to do with your faith in the Gospel...

Perfect Redemptive-Historical preaching of Genesis 13:13, isn't it?

For many years while serving in the pagan Presbyterian Church (USA), I would attend their General Assemblies and work with a team of saints to call our denomination to repent of their use of God's holy Name to endorse child-slaughter and every form of sexual wickedness. During our work each year, I often considered linking the denomination's favorite perversion, sodomy, with another they weren't yet giggling with excitement about--bestiality. Each time, though, I remembered Pope's wise caution and decided against it:

Vice is a monster of so frightful mien
As to be hated needs but to be seen;
Yet seen too oft, familiar with her face,
We first endure, then pity, then embrace.

It seemed clear that speaking of bestiality would only serve to embolden such evil women and men, taking us down the next steps of horror more quickly. So I never spoke of it.

Yet I knew the day was coming when I'd have to speak of it and, thirty years later, that day is upon us.

If you're an adult responsible for animals and children, read this article and consider how you will protect the creatures and souls under your care. Concerning sexual temptation, always keep in mind the following warning and promise given us by the Holy Spirit:

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? - Jeremiah 17:9

No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. - 1 Corinthians 10:13

Sodomy and bestiality are similar crimes against nature and nature's God. The time has come to speak of them in the same breath, not in order to desensitize souls to bestiality's horror, but to try to restore sodomy's horror. We must demonstrate to the watching world how quickly our horror at sodomy vanished, and thus how quickly our horror at bestiality is also vanishing.

People will begin to speak of bestiaphobia. Then, quick to please, Reformed pastors and seminary professors will speak as compassionately about the man who desires an antelope or child as they now speak of the man who desires a man--the woman who desires a woman.

Cold hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colours from our sight
Red is gray and yellow, white
But we decide which is right
And which is an illusion.
