Now how am I supposed to interpret this without spending money to find out? A hint, please? :)
Dear Sandy,
It is the difference between the word "rest" and "wrest." Most don't understand the song to mean what it is actually saying, even myself. The first line of the song would translate to mean "God make you merry." Wrest helps to get that meaning across better, but still loses many people. Wrest is a much stronger word because it is a word of force and not "rest" as in at ease, which is how many interpret the word in the song. That's my best explanation.
