Forget Gannett: let's have the National Enquirer buy the Tribune...

“The Department has searched for Mr. Pagliano’s email PST file and has not located one that covers the time period of Secretary Clinton's tenure.”  - State Department spokesman Elizabeth Trudeau

In their lies, journalists are a close second to magpies. Naturally, then, they've always loved the Clintons. Birds of a feather.

To journalists, sexual liaisons in the Oval Office between their president and a young female intern are life as usual. As they see it, what's scandalous is that when their president lied about his sexual abuse of this young woman, someone/anyone tried to impeach him.

Jerry Sandusky is Penn State and football, so they crucify him. Bill Clinton, though, is Yale and politics, so they adore him and carry his water...

Journalists tell us Bill Clinton's sexual abuse of a young woman inside the Oval Office and lying about it under oath shouldn't matter one whit. Then that the countless cold calculations, manipulations, fabrications, evasions, and lies of Bill's wife should matter even less. Ms. Rodham Clinton deleted 30,000 e-mails written while she served as our Secretary of State? Vince Foster is dead? Ms. Clinton cried publicly about how poor she and Bill were, and a year or two later they were worth over a hundred million dollars? Life as usual for this couple.

So this morning the Trib wants to get everyone to shut up about The Rodham's e-mail deletions and lies. It's What They Need To Do Today, so they get a guy to spit out an oped and this is what he writes:

Despite the enormous manpower and time the Justice Department has devoted to this case, there has never been even a suggestion, let alone any evidence, that Clinton did any such thing.

Well thank you, Most Eminent Superior inside the Tribune Tower on North Michigan Avenue. Thank you very much. We're so pleased to have you around to educate us concerning what does and doesn't matter. None of us would know if we didn't have such Superior Beings to tell us.

The Trib continues:

But when it comes to the presidential campaign, that isn't going to matter. Republicans already know what they think: Clinton is a criminal whose every thought and action is vile and despicable, so of course she broke the law. If the investigation doesn't show that, it could only be because the investigation was a sham. So they'll just keep saying that this is a scandal, over and over and over.

Yes, yes; of course: Republicans "already know what they think" while journalists are unbiased. Journalists are objective in their search for the truth.

You know, what the Trib wrote and what they meant were two different things. Here's what they were really trying to say:

Despite the enormous manpower and time the Clinton's media shills have devoted to covering up the lies of their friends, the Clintons, there has never been even a suggestion, let alone any evidence, that the coverup has worked. Bill and Hillary are universally despised, and for good reason.

But when it comes to the presidential campaign, that isn't going to matter. Journalists already know what they think: Ms. Rodham Clinton is a criminal whose every thought and action is vile and despicable, so of course she broke the law. If the investigation doesn't show that, it could only be because the investigation was a sham. So we'll just keep saying that this is no scandal, over and over and over.

Covering for baby-slaughterers and men who crash the ladies room and women who lie with other women is who we are and what we do.
