Six fruitful vines within their houses...

He makes the barren woman abide in the house As a joyful mother of children. Praise the LORD! - Psalm 113:9

Because of joy, which is reason enough; and because of thanksgiving which this week is; and because of Scripture's close tie-in of a man's work as a pastor and his family; and because multiplication of family members is one of the most frequent promises of God to His people, as well as God's personal promise to me when I returned to him that night out in California; and because daughters raised by a misogynist and daughters-in-law married to men raised by a misogynist love to give themselves to stay-at-home-motherhood, pregnancy, adoption, and childrearing; and because testimony to His faithfulness is displayed and commanded throughout the Psalms; and because we just received another grandchild from God—Moses from Ethiopia; for all these reasons, and more, here are a couple pics...

First, these two taken as Joseph, Heidi, Tate, Eliza, and Moses returned from a month-plus sojourn in Ethiopia. They arrived in Indy last Saturday night and we all were there to greet them—all except Doug and Heather and their five who were out of state. Above, the whole fam waiting; then, below, Joseph and Heidi and their wee ones (Heidi holding Moses) walking out of B Concourse. Joseph and Heidi have been working with David and Vanessa Abu-Sara planting Clearnote Church, Indy these past few years and are about to move to Cincinnati to plant again. If you'd like to read about their time in Ethiopia, here's a link. If you'd like to read updates or help with their work church-planting, you can e-mail Joseph.

Finally, this pic of the Weeks family: Lucas, Hannah, and their Brie, Asher, Justus, and Jerome. Lucas also graduated from the Clearnote Pastors College and works as our assistant pastor for pastoral care at Clearnote Church, Bloomington. We refer to her daughter as HIH (Imperial).

All for now. God is so very kind! He has fulfilled His promises to Mary Lee and me, to let us see our children's children, and we are thankful and praise Him! Our children honor God and are raising their sons and daughters in the nurture and admonition of the Lord—eighteen so far, including two we haven't met yet.

Psalm 128 (A Song of Ascents)

How blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, Who walks in His ways. When you shall eat of the fruit of your hands, You will be happy and it will be well with you. Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine Within your house, Your children like olive plants Around your table. Behold, for thus shall the man be blessed Who fears the LORD. The LORD bless you from Zion, And may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life. Indeed, may you see your children’s children. Peace be upon Israel!
