Register now for the Clearnote Fellowship 2013 Summer Conference...

Clearnote Fellowship is excited to announce that registration is now open for the 2013 Summer Conference, "She is Our Mother," to be held July 5th and 6th in Bloomington, Indiana. The theme of this year's conference builds on the 2012 Summer Conference, "I Believe in God the Father Almighty."

Christians in America today reject the fatherhood of God by gagging His word and those who proclaim it. They also scoff at the truth that any true son of God must have the church as his mother. When elders are diligent in their care for the sheep, we often refuse their care, bleat, and run off—away from our mother!

In the 3rd century AD, Cyprian of Carthage wrote: “You cannot have God as your Father unless you have the church for your Mother.” In his Institutes, Calvin writes: "But because it is now our intention to discuss the visible church, let us learn even from the simple title of 'mother' how useful, indeed how necessary, it is that we should know her."

Useful and necessary, indeed! Christ's church is the mother of all those chosen by God for salvation so join us as we sit under preaching focussed on what our relationship should be to this Mother God has given us, and what it means for her to be reformed in our own age.

The Clearnote Summer Conference is like none other! Our habit is to preach the Word of God rather than to give lectures and talks. We welcome children... ages 0-14 years and have a full program for them that is planned and led by our wisest fathers and mothers. Your sons and daughters will love the conference and, we trust, will grow in their knowledge of our Lord Jesus and His precious Word. We provide several hearty home-cooked meals and foster true fellowship and unity of the church by bringing together Christians of all ages.

With God our Father and the Church our mother, the Clearnote Conference is always a loving and joyful and warmhearted family affair!

So, if you've left conferences counting how many seconds you were able to grab with the famous ones and who you're able to add to your database from your hard work networking, give yourself a break and be renewed in our Lord at the Clearnote Fellowship 2013 Summer Conference. This conference is for the entire body of or woman, father or mother, husband or wife, young or old, single or married, young children or grown children or no children, pastor, elder, deacon, church member. Which is to say, this conference is for you!

Register now since the early-bird discount ends June 9th: $35 per adult, $5 per child. Because of space limitations, this year we're putting a limit on registration: 280 adults and 170 children. A word to the wise is sufficient.

Look forward to seeing you in July! And if you want to come early, each year we watch the Fourth of July fireworks display from our church property.

Shawna and I have fond memories of watching the fireworks with CGS at the old Church of God property (well after CGS had stopped sharing that building) and we wondered if that tradition was still in place.

We'll see you on the 4th. (and 5th and 6th.)

Because the fireworks moved to the fairgrounds, we actually watch them at the Clearnote church house now, Eric. Odd how that tradition returned, isn't it?

"Because of space limitations, this year we're putting a limit on registration: 280 adults and 170 children."

Out of curiosity, how many adults and children were registered last year?

There were 140 children (ages 14 and under) last year.

"And if you want to come early, each year we watch the Fourth of July fireworks display from our church property."

I just heard that Bloomington is not doing fireworks on July 4 this year, and according to a Herald Times headline that appears to be true (I cannot read the whole story without a subscription). Will you please confirm? It may affect our travel plans. Warmly,

Dear Jessica,

It's true. The Herald Times has reported that there will not be any fireworks this year at the Fairgrounds. However, if you are looking for fireworks next weekend,  "Ellettsville will host its annual community fireworks show on July 4 at the Edgewood High School football field," just 10 minutes from Clearnote Bloomington's church house.

It better not affect your plans, though.:) Isn't hanging out with us better than 10,000 fireworks?
