Delusions of grandeur...

A friend of a friend commented that he thought the posts on Wheaton's announced policy change toward homosexuals weren't likely to raise the hue and cry I must he hoping for. This made Mary Lee and me laugh out loud.

But then maybe his comment was an April Fool's joke?

In case he was serious, though, let me put his mind to rest...

Wheaton is so far gone I hadn't a thought of raising a ruckus. I only wanted to point to the abject terror of having any of their peers judge them insufficiently progressive which causes the wealthy scholars, publishers, and pastors within the Reformed parachurch world to do such things.

On Baylyblog we work hard to get young men to cut themselves off from the moneychangers who sit in the seat of Moses dispensing invitations, royalties, blog links, heterodoxy, and heresy who think godliness is a means of profit. Church history demonstates the disease is highly contagious and we wish to inoculate young men and women, elders, pastors, deacons, and Titus 2 women against this soul-murderous trade that corrupts the church and her officers.

If this weren't our goal, we might have a chance to catch the ears of these men or their wealthy trustees long enough to result in Wheaton cleaning up the way they just expressed their unfaithfulness so that the revision reads a little less scandalously. But then that might qualify as bait-and-switch? Anyhow, David and I have spent enough years yelling down the golden eggs that the geese give us a wide berth.
