Neither is their matrimony lawful...
Bloomington's Mayor Mark Kruzan broke the law of God and the law of the state of Indiana two days ago by officiating at the non-marriage of a number of homosexualists. Preening himself over his shame, Mayor Kruzan told the press:
People ask us why we're doing this. It's about equality and opportunity. History simply will not smile kindly upon those who advocated against equality. It's time that marriage be recognized by all.
Yes yes, of course; that's what orthodox Christians are all about. We are advocates against equality of opportunity for sodomites and lesbians—unless, of course, the equality of opportunity is repentance. Then we're what some might consider rabid proponents of equality of opportunity: that glorious opportunity to flee to the Cross of Jesus Christ with us, and there to be washed by His precious blood. For all the catcalls in response, it remains true that it's only in Christ that there is neither Jew nor Greek, male nor female, slave nor free, heterosexual nor homosexual. The ground under Jesus' cross is absolutely level, praise God!
But who's talking about repentance these days, particularly the repentance of sodomites and lesbians? Mayor Kruzan's public circus act was aimed at silencing any man still daring to call sodomy "sin" and still daring to call sodomites to repent of that sin.
What I can't figure out, though, is why Mayor Kruzan didn't have his picture taken with older men kissing little boys?
Was there no father pledging lifelong sexual faithfulness to his daughter? No farmer making out with his ewe? If Mayor Kruzan is hell-bent on leading this rebellion against God's Moral Law, why does he draw the line at lesbians and sodomites while still refusing to include pedophiles and zoophiles, for instance? Did no journalist have the presence of mind to ask Mayor Kruzan why he's so inconsistent with his rebellion? After all, the military bans on bestiality and sodomy were removed at the same time.
Then there was Bob Zaltsberg donating three-quarters of his Bloomington Herald Times front page above the fold to a full-color picture of the historic event. Did you note the teaser at the top right hand corner of the page. As Twain put it, "Hain’t we got all the fools in town on our side? And ain’t that a big enough majority in any town?"
Those who fear God need to name this the perversion it is and, if possible, shame these men whose leadership consists of making good evil and evil good. God is not honored and the captives gripped in homosexual bondage are not released by Christians scrupulously silent at this gap in the wall.
Each wedding officiated by a pastor of Clearnote Fellowship begins with these words from the 1549 Book of Common Prayer (we paraphrase it slightly):
DEERELY beloved frendes, we are gathered together here in the syght of God, and in the face of his congregacion, to joyne together this man and this woman in holy matrimonie, which is an honorable estate instituted of God in paradise, in the time of mannes innocencie, signifying unto us the misticall union that is betwixte Christe and his Churche: whiche holy estate, Christe adorned and beutified with his presence, and first miracle that he wrought in Cana of Galile, and is commended of Sainct Paule to be honourable emong all men; and therefore is not to bee enterprised, nor taken in hande unadvisedlye, lightelye, or wantonly, to satisfie mens carnal lustes and appetites, like brute beastes that have no understanding: but reverentely, discretely, advisedly, soberly, and in the feare of God.
Duely consideryng the causes for the whiche matrimonie was ordeined. One cause was the procreacion of children, to be brought up in the feare and nurture of the Lord, and prayse of God. Secondly it was ordeined for a remedie agaynst sinne, and to avoide fornicacion, that suche persones as bee maried, might live chastlie in matrimonie, and kepe themselves undefiled membres of Christes bodye. Thirdelye for the mutuall societie, helpe, and coumfort, that the one oughte to have of thother, both in prosperitie and adversitie. Into the whiche holy estate these two persones present: come nowe to be joyned.
Therefore if any man can shewe any juste cause why they maie not lawfully be joyned so together: Leat him now speake, or els hereafter for ever hold his peace. And also speakyng to the persones that shalbe maried, he shall saie. I REQUIRE and charge you (as you will aunswere at the dreade full daye of judgemente, when the secretes of all hartes shalbee disclosed) that if either of you doe knowe any impedimente, why ye maie not bee lawfully joyned together in matrimonie, that ye confesse it. For be ye wel assured, that so manye as bee coupled together otherwaies then Goddes woord doeth allowe: are not joyned of God, neither is their matrimonie lawful.
Good reader, note that last sentence: "For be ye well assured that so many as be coupled together otherwise than God's Word does allow are not joined of God, neither is their matrimony lawful."
During his thirteen ring circus, Mayor Kruzan said: "By the power not yet vested in me by the state of Indiana, I pronounce you partners in life."
The day will quickly come when the civil magistrates of our state of Indiana will shame themselves as Mayor Kruzan has shamed himself, seeking to give high-visibility approval to sexual perversion. When that day arrives, no law and no repeal of a law will ever be able to make the coupling of man or beast lawful.
Every man alive throughout all history has been under the Law of God written on our hearts which declares:
And (Jesus) answered and said, “Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, 'for this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.” - Matthew 19:4-6
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, may God have mercy on us all, through the power of His Holy Spirit making us able to flee the sexual immorality which permeates every part of our lives in these United States today. Amen.

So sorry for all of this. May God grant repentance.
The photo on the front page of the Herald-Times serves no purpose other than to be intentionally offensive. This was a terrible call by Zaltsberg.
May God grant His pastors courage and faith to bring these helpful warnings back into weddings, and couples the humility, faith, and love of the brethren to support it.
And the local hospital (please tell me that's not the only one in town) will stop delivering babies.
I really hope there's more to that story. What are they going to do when a laboring mother in distress is brought to their doors? Tell her "Sorry, we don't do that here, go somewhere else?"
That and the "marriage" thing.... rampant misogyny all over the place. Tch.
"After all, the military bans on bestiality and sodomy were removed at the same time."
In no way is this an attempt to defend a shameful decision by our civilian law-makers, but as a point of clarification, regarding the above statement on military bans on bestiality and sodomy being lifted, bestiality and paedophilia are still illegal, for now.
"Any person subject to this chapter who engages in unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same or opposite sex or with an animal is guilty of Sodomy (Article 125, UCMJ)."
Immediately following the text of the statute are the "elements", in which it is further clarified to specifically protect children under the age of 16.
The major amendment, however, is that Sodomy is no longer completely illegal, so long as it is with a child over the age of 16, with consent, and without force.
It is still shameful, but there is still hope, for now, for those who acknowledge God's commands regarding the sin of paedophiles and zoophiles.

[NOTE FROM TB: Dear JH, Thanks. I inserted a correction and link to the Stars and Stripes in the text above.]
No, IU Morgan hospital is located in Martinsville. Here is a link from the IU News Room:

If a pregnant woman goes to ER for delivery, I imagine they would take her in an ambulance to Bloomington Hospital?
>>I imagine they would take her in an ambulance to Bloomington Hospital?
Or if they're brave like the wife of my Hebrew teacher at seminary, Meredith Kline Jr., the mother will give birth in the back seat of their VW Bug with her husband assisting and they'll have saved enough money to make a down payment on a house.
Love,
Well, I was hypothetically answering Arwen B.'s question "What are they going to do when a laboring mother in distress is brought to their doors?" The article did say that IU Morgan had many high-risk patients so maybe the "backseat" or "at home" option would not be wise.
(p.s. sorry to have contributed to a rabbit trail from the OP.)
