Muslim butchers Coptic Christians...

Yusuf Ibrahim has been arrested and is being held on charges of murder and desecration of bodies in connection with the murder and mutilation of two Coptic Christian men. The men lived in Buena Vista, New Jersey, and were recent immigrants from Egypt.

Reports indicate both men had their hands cut off and were beheaded with their heads and bodies separated and buried.

You hadn't heard about it? It didn't make Google's news page?

In the past couple of months I've had two conversations with two students recently arrived in the U.S. from China and Saudia Arabia. During our talks, I spoke to each of them of the persecution of Christians in their country. The two don't know each other. Both responded the same way: they were very sweet while informing me that "this could not possibly be. Our government would never do such a thing. It must be a misunderstanding." And so on.

Both are being witnessed to by faithful brothers and sisters. Please pray for them, that in the worship of our Lord's Church and her fellowship they will come to see the holiness and mercy of God, and that the Holy Spirit will lead them to tremble for their sins and flee to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Let us also pray for our brothers and sisters suffering terrible persecution in Egypt and China and Saudia Arabia.

Every Sunday during worship and every Wednesday evening when the men gather for prayer, the following is among the set prayers offered:

Almighty God, who hast promised to put all enemies of your Annointed One under his feet, render unto evil and wicked men who persecute your Son and the members of His body the judgment that is right for their evil and wicked deeds. [especially do we pray for ...]. Comfort and save those who suffer for the sake of Jesus and deliver them out of the hand of their enemies.

I like that.  My personal version is simply to have God bring them to repentance and if they will not repent then crush them.  Set prayers are wise policy.

May I add North Korea to that short list?
