Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting a young grad student from Brazil who introduced herself to me as "Evangelical" and clearly meant it to communicate that she belonged to Jesus. Meanwhile news reports arrive telling us that Evangelical wolf Brian McLaren has presided over his son's marriage to another man this past week...

A member of my extended family defended Wolfman McLaren to me several years ago, explaining no one had ever answered the questions of her heart the way he did. I think of her now and wonder if her heart still belongs to McLaren?

Moving to the other end of the Americas, the Philly Inquirer reports that Evangelical Christians are an explosive demographic within Brazil and Evangelicals are exercising their conscience within the fashion world as a call to modesty. God be praised!

Speaking of the Inquirer, my friend Robert Patterson just had a piece in the Inquirer making the case that President Obama is running on a platform of sexual perversion and murder as a strategy to divert attention from...

the fiscal mayhem he's bequeathed to us and our great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandchildren.

Finally, I'm sure I'm not the first to inform you that California Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill today making it illegal to work with those tempted by homosexual desires to lead them to repentance and sexual healing. We'll have to wait to see if pastors, elders, deacons, fathers, mothers, and Christian school teachers will be granted immunity from the law. But really, it hardly matters, does it?

Was Covenant Seminary's resident ethicist theologian David Jones really so dense that he never anticipated this would be the result of his work to repeal our nation's sodomy laws?
