Looks like that thing is half full or so too.
Too bad there was no sound. I wanted to hear what that sounded like!
Have your wife stand on your right, six inches from your ear and your eldest son on your left, likewise, and have them both shout KABOOM on a count of three as loud as they can. That's about ten percent of the effect. It sounded like a preview of Armageddon. But the video was done in slow motion, which I suspect turns off the sound.
Blast overpressure can be a beautiful thing!
Here are the six most relevant frames (all from 0:56)
One more try:
0. Nuttin yet
1. Pre-kablooie
2. KABOOM!
3. Post-kaboom
4. Liftoff 1
5. Liftoff 2
Thanks, Daniel. I love the individual frames. Especially the one with the bang. It was even bigger than I thought.
