Christians gambling...

For a time, a group of confessing Christians made a living counting cards at Blackjack tables in casinos around the country. Some of the team was associated with Acts 29 and several were church planters. One of them is now studying in Clearnote Pastors College. His name is Michael Foster and his pastoral work is featured in a documentary of the team's work titled Holy Rollers. (The movie isn't nearly as cynical as the trailer.)

All that as lead-in to this confession of sin my dear brother, Michael, has just posted on his blog. Please read it. It's rare that believers deal forthrightly with their past sins as Augustine did in his Confessions. If only men wrote biographies as confessions today!

May God bless you, Michael, for leading in repentance.

Excellent

Next movie will be Holy Whores.

A few years ago, I heard about a group called Strippers for Jesus. Go figure...

>Holy Whores

I think this would be a good title for a film about pastors that work the conference circuit of Evangelicalism.

Dear Michael,

Thanks for writing this. It was very helpful. Your brought out points that convicted me, that I really need to teach my sons.

Michael,
It's not the conferences themselves that's the problem though, is it? I think the problem is more the apparent operating assumption that spiritual knowledge transfer can be divorced from pastoral application to individuals -- the idea that knowing the flock is of no importance.
