Reilly on Tebow...

Another good piece by ESPN's Rick Reilly. You may remember Reilly's nasty piece attacking the home-schooled boy who, in a state wrestling tournament last year, declined to wrestle a girl? On a different note, in this piece Reilly commends Tim Tebow. As the Apostle Peter puts it, Tim Tebow is keeping his behavior excellent among the Gentiles:

Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day of visitation. (1Peter 2:12)

Thanks for providing the link to this article, Tim (via Doug). My husband and I have always felt that Tebow is for real and this article just reinforced it.

BTW, our rector used Tim Tebow as a sermon illustration this morning. He said he felt the reason that many Americans were uncomfortable with Tebow was that because that they just couldn't believe what Tebow readily admits -- that God speaks to him regularly.

After the meat of the sermon (how we can know God is speaking to us today, with examples from our OT and Gospel readings for the day), he told us that yesterday after the game Tebow did something Rick Reilly's article mentioned -- he took a disabled girl out to dinner.

Please excuse the mistakes in the 2nd paragraph, 2nd sentence. It should read, "...uncomfortable with Tebow was because they just couldn't believe what Tebow..."

Guess it's time to call it a day :)
