Here's an old 2005 post on Rick Santorum. He's done a good job in the debates. If only we could wipe that white whine off his face... (TB)

He's my hope, and for the same reason that Perry, Cain, and Gingrich had their turns, he might too. Ordinary voters will settle for anyone in preference to Romney who is conservative and not notably immoral.
I believe he's the only one who would actually do (or at least try to do) something about abortion. Sigh. Why can't we have a Reformed man run?
The Reformed believe in R2K.
Thus, they eschew politics.

Actually, Reformed men have never held to R2K. Simply look at Colonial America or read Knox and Calvin. This is the reason we label R2K "ridiculous" two kingdom.
Love,
Pro-life Christians have a candidate, Ron Paul. Rick Santorum endorsement of pro-abortionist Arlen Specter helped secure Obamacare. He's supported gun control as evidenced by his support the Lautenberg Gun Ban. Santorum is big government as evidenced by his vote to double the size of the godless Department of Education and the expansion of Medicare. Christians have most to be concerned with Santorum’s hawkish support of America’s Trojan Horse – the Patriot Act. His good intentions are creating a loss of civil liberty and the trampling of the Bill of Rights in our own land and the fulfillment of Madison’s prophetic words in the Federalist Papers, "If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy." It’s setting the stage for Christian persecution in the U.S. As one who worked for Sen. Jesse Helms and as someone who worked on Capitol Hill at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee while Helms was chairman and as someone who believes the Bible is instructive on how Christians should construct domestic & foreign policy – I encourage you to reevaluate. Ron Paul is a wise choice.
Ron Paul is a libertarian. He doesn't believe in federal laws either for or against abortion. I haven't found him saying outright that he supports state laws against abortion--- does he? Be discerning in processing his rhetoric.
He also presumably believes in complete legalization of pornography and drugs, since he ran on the Libertarian ticket.
My big fear with Santorum is that he'll be like George W. Bush--- a good-hearted, sincere, Christian with too little theological grounding to tell the difference between the World and the Bible.
