Portlandia is the seventies in Madison and Boulder. One day on Boulder Mall, I watched Nederland stoners sitting around a bed sheet on the bricks heaped high with donuts they'd just pulled out of a dumpster behind Dunkin Donuts. Stuffing their faces with deep fried sugar, it was pig heaven. I felt nauseous.

But like the Times chortles about all Republican SCOTUS appointments prior to Thomas, in time I "grew."

Furniture, yes. Food? Not so much.

I've had severe food poisoning twice in the last five years. So I'm getting pickier about the restaurants I frequent and certainly wouldn't voluntarily eat out of a dumpster.

But it was funny!
