Home ›A request for contact information for Pastor Sam Downing...
by David and Tim Bayly on March 8, 2011 - 3:21pm
(Tim) You'll remember Rev. Sam Downing who used to be a PCA pastor at City Church in Denver? Well, he's apparently left City Church after taking her into the liberal Reformed Church in America and man left a request earlier today for contact information here on Baylyblog. So if anyone can help him, I'd be grateful.

Anyone looking for Pastor Downing and not finding him isn't really looking very hard. The name of the church, City Presbyterian, hasn't changed, even though it is now RCA. Just go to Citypres.org, get the phone number of the church, call and ask that a message be relayed to Mr. Downing. Even though he is not the pastor, he is still well connected with many members, it isn't as if he can't be found. Unless...
I am reminded of my attempt to get some tapes of sermons of a pastor at a church I attended in my teens. That is some time ago, but I figured that it was worth a try to see if they still had masters. Thing is, the pastor had left under darkness of scandal, and I received a letter sometime later that said the church no longer had a single tape of his. In other words, he, and the tapes, had been erased.

Not impossible, but hardly self-evident.
