Abortionists attack the compassion of pregnancy resource centers...

(Tim) In the State of Washington, a bill (HB 1366) is pending in the state legislatures that poses a severe threat to the godly ministry of love carried out by Washington's pregnancy resourse centers. Andrew Woodyard writes:
Apparently it's not enough for Washington State to be "pro-choice." It must become "abortion only."
House and Senate bills sponsored by Planned Parenthood, the National Abortion Rights Action League, the American Civil Liberties Union, and Legal Voice have been introduced that will undermine Washington's Pregnancy Resource Centers, exposing them to baseless law suits and, effectively, shutting them down. The bills are driven by pro-abortion ideology--certainly not any concern for the well-being of mothers. These bills will punish those showing compassion to mothers by adding significant burdens to their work--burdens no one is proposing be added to the work of abortionists, other healthcare workers, or businesses. Here's a good website some of us are using a lot right now for communication as we oppose this legislation.

Are we surprised?
They kill babies for money.
After reading the text of this bill, I wondered whether the sponsors of the bill (and those who are asking for this bill -- PP and the like), actually have evidence for Section 2c (see below) or can they make them up out of thin air?
"(c) Some limited service pregnancy centers have misled people about the nature of their services, and have withheld health care records, including the results of pregnancy tests, from individuals seeking services."
Section 5 of the bill also requires "limited service pregnancy centers" to provide free copies of their clients' health care records upon request. Don't know Washington law on this matter, but in Ohio this is a burden not placed on hospitals, physician offices, etc. These institutions are allowed to charge patients by the page for their health care records (possibly as much as $1/page).
You'd like to see this type of "law", and this one specifically, knocked down immediately as an invalid request due to the fact that it is most likely not IAW the US Constitution.
I mean, come on. We have already decided to allow 1.5% of the US population one of the loudest voices in culture and politics (seriously - 4,300,000 may seem like a big deal until you compare it with 284,800,000. Check out the video four posts down on this blog demonstrating the impact of Pres. Obama's "$100 Billion budget cut" for a sense of perspective). To the point of changing laws, forcing the perverted desires of that 1.5% down the throats of everybody else.
Since when did the wants of the few, or the one, outweigh the needs of the many?
The MPCOA, however, is that it will be passed with little to no revision in favor of "limited service" pregnancy centers.

If you want to see the reason this bill was introduced, here it is: http://ppvw.org/pressReleases/LSPCReportWebFINAL.pdf
According to this report, the majority of pregnancy centers visited provided false information to the women who called or visited.
Also, the bill defines limited-service pregnancy centers as ones that provide no medical services. If they provide prenatal medical care, this bill does not apply. This bill does _not_ discriminate solely on the basis of whether abortions or abortion referrals are provided.
If you do not believe me about the bill, go to the legislative website and read it for yourself.
Providing medical records from these centers does not seem like onerous to me - it sounds like it would essentially be one sheet of paper with pregnancy test results. The testers in the above study were refused written test results.
That's quite a report, Janice.
"Legal Voice and Planned Parenthood Votes! Washington thank the many generous volunteers
who investigated, researched, and help write this report. Special thanks are owed to the Planned
Parenthood VOX chapters at universities and colleges throughout Washington State; to our
colleagues at NARAL Pro-Choice Washington and their many college student volunteers who
assisted with the second phase of testing; and to the Law Students for Reproductive Justice
chapters at Washington law schools who also assisted with the testing project. We also wish
to thank the Cedar River Clinics and Aurora Medical Services.
The investigation was carried out by the field organizers at Planned Parenthood of
the Great Northwest, Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington and North Idaho, Mount Baker
Planned Parenthood, Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette, and their invaluable volunteers."
Activist research is usually reliable when employing activist college students. One of the criticisms of the report was the fact that Crisis Pregnancy Centers used volunteers...are you as assured this investigation is accurate considering Planned Parenthood also used "volunteers"?
Note that the bill concerns "limited service pregnancy centers". Let's see...pregnancy centers only offer counseling, referrals to adoption agencies, pre- and post-natal support, referrals to medical and legal help, love, true concern for the conscience and welfare of the mother. Abortion centers offer abortion and birth control. Which is the limited service?
