"She can't ask for an apology..."
(Tim) You go public with the truth that a married man made crude sexual overtures to you in the office at work; his career is nearly busted and his reputation trashed around the world; then, twenty years later when his wife leaves one message on your office phone politely asking you to explain your actions and to apologize to her husband, you... What? Call the police? Ask them to send a recording of the voice mail to the FBI because the message was "not invited"? Call in the New York Times and play the message for them?
You lie, publicly accusing a married man of making crude sexual overtures to you in the office at work...

Call in the New York Times and play the message for them?Sure, you can't know the truth between Clarence Thomas and Anita Hill, but Ms. Hill's actions and statements to the press leave me leaning in one particular direction.
Said Anita Hill: “I thought it was certainly inappropriate. It came in at 7:30 a.m. on my office phone from somebody I didn’t know, and she is asking for an apology. It was not invited. There was no background for it. I appreciate that no offense was intended, but she can’t ask for an apology without suggesting that I did something wrong, and that is offensive."
They teach this at law school: "she can’t ask for an apology without suggesting that I did something wrong, and that is offensive."
Either way, poor Mrs. Thomas. The chattering classes are really angry at her. And as Joe Sobran found out, they can make life miserable for you.

Assume Anita Hill was lying. . .
Would you go to the devil and ask for an apology?
Mrs. Thomas made a fool of herself. She looked pathetic. If she and her husband know he is innocent, why expect or ask anything of Anita Hill?
Your blog would be more convincing if you could admit that a conservative could ever look foolish. Mrs. Thomas sure does. Foolish and pathetic.
JJ,
"Conservatives" -- political and theological -- look foolish every day. They're epidemic. And, this blog calls them out every day.
You should read here more often before you complain.
Well, if we believe that every knee will bow, then we can assume that yes, the Devil will be told to apologize. And he will.
I vividly remember a bit from Rush Limbaugh's short-lived TV show where he demonstrated that Anita Hill's chief character witness had perjured herself. Of course, the Democratic held Senate couldn't be bothered about that; that wouldn't leave enough time for a high tech lynching.
