Canyon Country burning

Christ the Word and Church of the Good Shepherd friends of Ben and Jannel James will appreciate these pictures of flames surrounding their neighborhood during the recent fires north of Los Angeles.

The boom extending below the firefighting helicopter in the second photo is used to suck swimming pool water into a holding tank as the helicopter hovers overhead (click on picture for a larger view).

Ben, Jannel and their family escaped the flames without harm, though they were forced to evacuate their home for a brief period.
