Children are a blessing from the Lord: Daniel Peregrine Crum...

Danielperegrinecrum_2 Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. (Psalms 127:3,4)

Daniel Peregrine Crum was born this morning, May 28, 2007, at 10:15 AM. He weighs 8 pounds, 10 ounces, and is twenty-two inches long. His mother, Michal, is recovering--very tired, but otherwise fine. Ben and Michal praise God for His wonderful gift.

(Obviously posted by Tim, the grateful-to-God grandpa.)

Praise God, and congratulations Grandpa!

Wow, two years to the day of their uniting in marriage. How cool is that! Is Daniel's middle name from the character in Lord of the Rings? God be praised for His mercy to Michal.

Praise the Lord from Whom All Blessings Flow. He is gorgeous. I can't wait to meet him...and, many happy returns of the day, Michal ;)

Grunt. Scratch. Pound Ben hard on back.

A boy!

Big attaboys!

Oh, and great job, Michal :)

Congratulations! Rejoicing all around! Let's hope he looks more like Michal and less like Ben. : )

Interesting name, Peregrine. I knew about the falcon, but not the rest I found below:

Peregrine can refer to several things. Its primary use is the name of bird of prey, the Peregrine Falcon. "Peregrine" is a given (first or Christian) name which means "wanderer". Uses of Peregrine include:

Let's hope he doesn't end up being an aristocrat with no essential dignity. :)

Thank you all for the congratulations. Michal and Daniel ("Pip") are doing very well (he, and we, slept well last night).

The name Peregrine, for all you wonderers out there, goes very nicely with the name Daniel. As Jeffrey pointed out above, the word means "wanderer" or "pilgrim". Daniel, of course, was a stranger in a strange land. Our son too, though warmly welcomed to our arms, is not yet home and we thought the name would be a good reminder to him (and others) of that.

Thank you again for all your support and prayers. If you would like to see more pictures you can go to the Crum Family Blog here:

Let's not forget "The Adventures of Peregrine Pickle, in which are included Memoirs of a Lady of Quality" by Tobias Smollet (1751).
