A Psalm of Church Building

Let me build a church
Lord
That's big enough for You.
Not big enough for them
or him or her
or me
but You.
Red door
open wide
high walls
enough to hem us in
to You
Your mind
windows without glass
through which
dove may fly
steeple
rising rising
through low clouds
to sky
and star beyond
tolling death
pealing life.

This past Sunday, immediately following our Lord's Day worship, our congregation had the joy of breaking ground for our new church building.

With a light snow dusting the ground, we walked the perimeter of what will be the building's foundations.

Singing as we walked, we prayed at each corner.

We asked God to honor Himself through our work and to establish Church of the Good Shepherd in faithfulness to our Lord Jesus Christ and the Word of His Spirit. As you think of us, please do pray that the Lord will establish the work of our hands.
